For US court reporters...
Do you need a trained and experienced proofreader to review your transcripts before submission?
Is your regular proofreader unavailable?
Are you inundated with work? Do you need some extra help?
Let me free up some of your precious time by giving your transcripts a final check with a fresh pair of eyes. I can check for punctuation/spelling errors, homonyms, inconsistencies, and incorrect word usage, all while respecting your individual preferences and using your preferred resources. I have direct access to Morson's English Guide for Court Reporters (second edition), Bad Grammar/Good Punctuation by Margie Wakeman Wells, and The Gregg Reference Manual (tenth edition).
I am a graduate of Proofread Anywhere's Transcript Proofreading: Theory & Practice course and a highly experienced general proofreader. I also have many years' experience in healthcare, so I am familiar with medical/anatomical terminology. I proofread transcripts as PDF documents, which results in clear corrections in yellow highlighting and red “pen” so you can easily see what needs to be changed or checked.
For new reporters, I offer the first 20 pages of proofreading free of charge so you can see how well we could work together.
Please see my rates and policies sheet for more information:
“Lauren has been a complete Godsend. She has alleviated so much stress in my life.
Her work is always on time and most times early. I look forward to a long professional relationship with her.”
